Just Say Yes

I want to share with you the importance of just saying yes. Just say ‘Yes’ to Jesus.

There were many phrases in the eighties, there was a phrase to fight against drugs. Just say no to drugs, and we know that Nike has had the phrase for a long time, Just do it.

Well what I say is just say no to Satan, Just say yes to Jesus, and Just do it.

I want to share the importance of how it is when we just say yes to what Jesus is asking us to do.

In the English Standard Version, Luke 1:26-38.

26 In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, 27 to a virgin betrothed[a] to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. And the virgin's name was Mary. 28 And he came to her and said, “Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you!”[b] 29 But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and tried to discern what sort of greeting this might be. 30 And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. 31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, 33 and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.”

34 And Mary said to the angel, “How will this be, since I am a virgin?”[c]

35 And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born[d] will be called holy—the Son of God. 36 And behold, your relative Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son, and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren. 37 For nothing will be impossible with God.” 38 And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant[e] of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

Mary said yes. Now it is believed that at the time when she made this decision, she was only about 15 years of age, just a teenager.

She was engaged to Joseph, and she knew by simply saying yes to this, that she was going to become pregnant before she and Joseph even consummated their marriage.

She said yes, knowing this was going to cause a riot, this was going to cause a ruckus among all of the people. What was her family going to think? What were all the people going to think? You're just a loose woman!

Mary was thinking about all of this stuff, but she knew that God had something great He wanted to do, and she willingly said YES.

She said yes, and because she did, Jesus was born, and He took away the sins of all mankind and gave us new life. We all benefited and we're all blessed from her one decision, her Yes.

So I want to encourage you in regards to that. Just say yes to whatever Jesus has placed on your heart to do because you don't know whose life your ‘Yes’ will make a difference in. You don't know whose life can be changed, just by your simple yes.

God loves you. He cherishes you. He carries a picture of you wherever He goes. He knows you by name. He knows everything about you, and He has been with you from birth. He has great plans for your life.

So Just Say Yes To Him.

God bless.

Shalom
